Welcome to the official website of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Omega Upsilon! We are a co-ed international business fraternity open to all majors that focuses on global leadership by balancing the exceptional education offered by the University of South Carolina with further development in professionalism, social conduct, and cultural skills.

A note from our CEO:

Sigma Omega Upsilon has been the organization on campus that has truly shaped my college experience at the University of South Carolina. As an out-of-state student who rushed as a first-semester freshman, I gravitated towards SOU at first as a place to grow my professionalism and maybe make some friends in the process. Now, having been in the organization for the last 4 years, I can confidently say I accomplished those two goals and so much more. 

This organization is a perfect encapsulation of all of the best parts of what this university has to offer. We have a 9-week professional development program for all new members, an honorary member program for exchange students at the university, and an alumni network that can help you every step of the way. Our fraternity also opens up so many other doors for you, if you’re looking for a part-time job on campus or another club to join, chances are somebody in SOU is in it or can introduce you to someone who is. 


As I prepare to graduate and move to a new city in May, I know that the connections I’ve formed will not fade, but will continue to grow long after my time at this university. I will always be grateful for the mentors and opportunities that this organization has given me, and I look forward to seeing you during recruitment as you look to begin your own journey within SOU.
