INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FRATERNITY
University of South Carolina - Alpha Chapter
Welcome to the official website of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Omega Upsilon! We are a co-ed international business fraternity open to all majors that focuses on global leadership by balancing the exceptional education offered by the University of South Carolina with further development in professionalism, social conduct, and cultural skills.
A note from our CEO:
Sigma Omega Upsilon has truly become a second home for me at the University of South Carolina and has shaped my college experience in more ways than I ever expected. As an out-of-state student who rushed as a first-semester freshman, I was looking for a community that would challenge me to grow both personally and professionally. At the time, professional settings pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and I knew I needed to put myself in environments that would help me become more confident. What drew me to SOU was not only its focus on professional development, but also the genuine sense of community I saw among its members. Four years later, I can confidently say that joining SOU was one of the best decisions I made in college. Through SOU, I have developed professionally, grown as a leader, and built friendships that will extend far beyond my time in college.
What makes SOU special is the opportunities it creates for its members. From our professional development program for new members to our honorary member program for exchange students, SOU provides an environment where people are constantly learning from and supporting one another. We also have a strong alumni base that genuinely cares about the success of current brothers and is always willing to give back however they can. No matter what path you want to pursue, chances are someone in SOU has been there before and is willing to help you along the way.
As I head into my senior year, I am incredibly grateful for everything this organization has given me. The mentorship, opportunities, and connections I have found through SOU have played a major role in shaping my college experience. More importantly, SOU has given me the chance to serve in leadership roles and contribute to a brotherhood that has given me so much over the last four years. I will always be grateful for the people and experiences that have come from this organization, and I look forward to seeing you during recruitment as you begin your own journey within Sigma Omega Upsilon.
