Quench is the official philanthropy of Sigma Omega Upsilon and it is near and dear to this fraternity because one of our founding members also founded this international organization
My name is Kelsie Stanley and I am one of the founding members of Sigma Omega Upsilon. I graduated with a degree in International Business, Marketing and Entrepreneurship in May of 2014. My junior year was full of excitement as I started my non-profit organization, Quench, and started SOU with the other founding members. Quench started as an idea my freshman year as I became more familiar with the staggering reality faced by those affected by the World Water Crisis. I became determined to help those in need and through the resources at the Darla Moore School of Business, I was able to turn my dream into a reality. Quench's purpose is two-fold: to raise awareness about the World Water Crisis and to raise funds to build wells and filtration systems in areas of need. We work on a project by project basis and utilize college campuses to spread our message. The members of SOU were extremely supportive of Quench's mission and ever since the creation of both, SOU has selected Quench as their philanthropic organization to donate money for time and time again.
